    Thanks for the suggestions everyone, to whoever said it would be the light bulb fitting you're today's winner :) turns out the connector spring had dropped ever so slightly, just needed prying back up.

    OH's step dad sorted it so no cost incurred

    Hi you would probably be better starting your own thread about your car. This was it does not get confusing.

    If you don't know how to start your own thread, go back to the page that lists all the threads then find the button near the top that says New Thread. Then fill in the title of your thread the question and I'm sure people will be more that will to help.

    I have a Megane of that vintage and it had the same issue recently, the high level light is a LED unit and needed complete replacement.

    It's going to be an earthing problem, the earthing on my Mondeo is shocking, how anything works is beyond me and it's no wonder Ford have rust issues on many of their cars.
