RE:-Water Ingress to Fiat Ducato & Peugeot Boxer Engines on NEW vehicles.
I am starting this petition because I & many others with new base vehicles as mentioned above have a problem & have been expressing concern about this issue since Febuary/March of this year!
Our problem is that a joint in the centre of the "windscreen scuttle" fails and allows rainwater to flow into the engine compartment where it causes rusting of some key components (inc injectors) & may threaten the longevity of components including electrical ones.
There are also other worries over the "scuttle" design.
Thus far the manufacturers involved have failed to address our concerns and have failed to officially recognise the "problem".
We are having to accept "temporary" fixes that often fail and allows the "problem" to cause further damage.
Many owners have tried to get responses to thier questions from the manufacturers named above without success.
Ours are predominantly Motorhomes with wide ranging values.
I believe this problem also affects non motorhome base vehicles and buyers in other parts of europe.
Under English law our contracts (under the "sale of goods act 1979") are with the Dealers from whom we bought.
They in turn have certain rights that mean they can send us for the "repairs" to theRE:-Water Ingress to Fiat Ducato & Peugeot Boxer Engines on NEW vehicles.

Our plight is that we have no idea when or how the manufacturers will deal with our vehicles.
Meanwile our engines are rusting!.
It is our intention to present this petition at the N.E.C. International Caravan and Motorhome Show 16th to 21st of OCtober 2007.
I am letting the petition run for a year to ensure our concerns over damage are fully addressed long term.
