I work full time but also want to get some extra money from a home IT support business in evenings and at weekends.
Does anyone have a checklist of what I require to do legally to set this up. I have a website and will start advertising soon in the local are but want to know what else I need to set up. I doubt it will make me lots of money but I am doing it partly as a hobby.

HMRC have all the info you need.
You will need to register as self employed, and pay tax/NI on this income as appropriate, as well as potentially insurance, notifying your mortgage provider or getting prior permission if renting from your landlord.0 -
Would I need to notify my Mortgage provide if it is home support at the end users home. I won't have anything at home for it . If I need parts then they will be purchased and taken to site not stored at home.0

The insurance is more a matter of covering yourself for either injuring yourself whilst doing your s/e work, i.e. whilst travelling or at customer's premises, and for any damage or loss of data you cause whilst working on customer's equipment.
You'll need to update your car insurance to cover business commuting.
You'll need to update your home insurance to cover your own computer and other equipment bought for your business. (unlikely to be covered on your existing home policy and most disclaim liability for any business use).
You can get public liability and/or professional indemnity insurance to cover damage/loss that you cause to your customer's equipment.0 -
Does anyone have any recommendations for insurance ?. I am not looking to make lots of money so ideally want to keep the costs low or there is no point in setting it up.0

You mean fixing laptops and PCs?0 -
Yes and also web design and mobile phone repair. But it's only in my spare time as I work full time.0
