Options
We have 2 rescue cats who are now knocking on a bit and we are thinking about the inevitable !
Our question relates really to disposal when gone ):
We live in a flat so no garden to use !
What are our options ?

    Cremation via your vet
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill

Some areas have pet cemeteries. Have a look online.

You can look for a pet crematorium yourself, phone book or online. I found one a few miles from me, I preferred to take the body there myself rather than hand it over to the vet.

Have you a friend with a large garden? Someone I knew buried a cat in a wood, because he had no garden. If you do that you will need to put a heavy stone on top of it so a fox doesn't dig it up.

Best to think of it now before the animal dies.

PS. What is knocking on a bit? If a cat is in good health it could live to early twenties. I have just buried my cat in the garden, he was 20 and was never ill except for the last few months when he went downhill.
    I love skip diving.

I probably sound heartless but I've opted for vet cremation and have not wanted their ashes. I couldn't bear the thought of burying them in the garden (or anywhere else), or scattering their ashes. It horrifies me. When I grew up, we'd leave them for cremation (dogs, cats). I have done the same as I'd feel too guilty for those already gone.

Also I've moved house a lot so would hate to leave them buried in a garden. That breaks my heart.

My cats are treated like babies, I love them to bits and sleep with them every night.

tbh, I feel the same about people! I take no 'comfort' from funerals and definitely don't want ashes. My mum on the other hand takes great comfort in keeping them (she has my dad's) which me & my sis just find horrific.

Now I'm with my BF, I'm not sure he'll be able to leave them so we may collect and scatter ashes.
