Shawbrook Bank Ltd

Hi

I have been checking out my free credit score as I do every month with clearscore.

I have noticed that under the QUOTATION AND PERSONAL SEARCHES I have one for a Shawbrook Bank Ltd.

On the 27/01/17 there are 2 Search for Credit Quotations.

I have no idea who Shawbrook Bank are and why they are doing soft searches on me. I have not applied for any credit or quotations.

Why would they be searching for me?

I've also noticed that I've had searches from them (24th March) on my Clearscore/experian report, but I don't have any products with them and haven't applied for any. Does anyone know if it is it legal for them to do this?
  • Hi

I don't know for certain that believe Shawbrook (and also Hitachi) provide finance for ENTU (double glazing basically).

    Hope that helps?

It appeared on my report as a soft search. However my only dealings with them was a savings account about 4 years ago.

I've also had a "Search for Credit Quotation" pop up from these guys this month (seen on Clearscore). I have no dealings with them, and do not know who they are. I've disputed it, but I'm deeply concerned how this could just appear!

Shawbrook ate 100% legit. I have thousands of pounds in one of their ISAs.
  • Same here so had a look on Clearscore faq.Mine was a car change with Aviva who use Shawbrook. Don't know why they needed a search to reduce my direct debit tho?

Thanks (and apologies for reviving an older thread). It was related to a personal loan quote from Clearscore.

Incidentally this has made me look at their investment products as they seem quite attractive :)
