Mortgage with defaults??

  • Thanks

Can anyone else speak from experience of any of lenders?
  • Hi
I've just had a mortgage decline with Halifax because of a £500 CCJ and 2 defaults of £54 which are all due to expire this July. AIP was for £100k more than we needed and it was declined for £150k.
That's with a joint salary of just over £60k, no payment issues in the last 5 years, 2 clear credit cards and no other debt.
Off to a broker we go...
  • There are quite a few options for mortgages with defaults on the CR; Halifax are traditionally more lenient than others as are Precise Mortgages & Aldermore.

I would recommend going through a broker; Halifax & Aldermore will deal with the customer direct; Precise will only go through a broker.

A broker is the way forward, feel free to do your own research but, they're the professionals, they invariably know what they're doing.

    Best of luck.

Thanks for the heads up, much appreciated

Frustratingly, I'm finding it difficult to find a mortgage advisor that does know what they're doing! I've visited 2 & neither have been able to specify which lenders are more lenient to circumstances.
hat's why I'm hoping there may be others that have been through something similar?

They may not name names upfront, until they have done a factfind and have soem commitment from you - you will see on here at times people speak to a broker and then try to cut the broker out after doing the research.

If you are strggling look for one with experience in adverse.
