Need some recommendations for a relative who needs a new bank account as not happy with Co-Op.
They have had this account almost 6 years, opened after bankruptcy in 2012, which is due to fall off credit file next month.
Need an account with Debit Card, to accept DD's and online banking, not bothered about branch banking.
HSBC, might be one to avoid since several accounts, loans and CC were included in the bankruptcy.
They are retired, paying in work pension and state pension approx £1200 per month.
Any ideas which might accept or not?

Read the links at the top of the page to see the recommendations for different types of account. Whether the bankruptcy would prevent opening some or all of the best options I have no idea.0

Information stays on file for 6 years doesn't it? Either the bankruptcy was a year earlier in 2011, or it's due to fall off their credit file next year. Which is it?0

Bank of Cyprus UK online current account perhaps?0

I would leave it until the bankruptcy has dropped off your credit files.0

Well as you have probably heard the Co-op will most likely be taken over soon so your relative could soon change banks without doing anything....0
