Yawn that's a very easy answer. I'll get my coat
  • Some local garages would not accept parts you have ordered yourself and like to order the parts themselves as sometimes the wrong parts are ordered.

Not sure where you get £30 plus vat per hr, try £75 to £120 as a bit nearer the mark.

    Lol
Ops still nearer the mark than you!

£40-£50 including vat the norm. Not your quoted dealership prices! Independents don't charge that

Depends where you live and the competition. Indies charge £75 incl vat where I live.

That's a crazy price per hour for an indie!. The garage i use has just risen their prices to £31 an hour including VAT which i only use if it's something i don't want to do myself. If my only choices were garages charging £75 an hour i would do everything myself no matter how much i didn't want too!
  • You don't say the make/model or how you came to the decision it's a problem with the reluctor ring? Before you go tearing off to get it looked at, worth checking the wiring and connectors under the front seats first (assuming you car has wiring for the seat belt tensioners).

On my DIL's old Rover 25, the ABS light came on and aftger reading on a Rover Forum, I checked the multiplugs under the seats, wiggling them to ensure good connections. The passenger one was a bit loose and clicked shut and this cured the ABS light. Apparently it is a fairly common problem, usually caused by rear seat passengers either catching their shoes on the plugs or shoving stuff under the seat.

Worth a try first. Good luck.

Ring snapped on my Peugeot 306, so I tied the ends together with tinned copper wire and pulled it in tight, this fixed the problem until someone spot welded it for me a year later.
