It probably falls under the latter category. Whilst this board is mostly related to PCNs from private companies, the board title is:

Parking Tickets - discussions about tickets (related to parking)
Fines - discussions about fines (related to parking)
    Parking - discussions about parking

It just so happens that most threads here relate to the first heading. :)
  • £77 for a weeks parking at Gatwick. Cheaper and safer to use a taxi.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

or get a £60 parking ticket

reminds me of the millionaire that went to the bank for a 2k loan , left his farrarri as collateral , returned 2 weeks later paid the loan , was cheaper than 2 weeks parking in londonia

Well, as it happens, it turns out that I have been caught out by this when using Looking4Parking.com
They had pre-ticked 'cancellation insurance' for me and I didn't spot it. I have asked Looking4Parking for a refund of this fee and they are refusing.

What is the big deal? Ryanair have been doing this for years. Caveat emptor.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
  • How are you even supposed to check? My HE email confirmations just give a total price? No broken down invoice.

Another rip-off is that a number of airport parking firms offer a premium rate 084 or 087 number for contact - including for after-sales enquiries and issues. This is not permitted under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 which came into force on 13 June 2014.

    http://legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2013/3134/regulation/41/made

Regulation 41 requires an 01, 02, 03 or 080 number for after-sales contact and in cases of non-compliance Regulation 41(2) gives callers the right to a refund of any excess call costs incurred over and above the cost of an equivalent call to an 01, 02 or 03 number.
