Sky broadband out of contract cancellation

Hi everybody

Hope this tread is in the right place, if not my apologies.
My sky contract expired in october 13th, still with them- out of contract as said.
To cancel I need 31 days, but since tomorrow is 13th and today is Sunday (therefore no-1 to talk to after 6pm), it means I have to wait until 12th March to cancel, which implies another 2 months of paying subscription.
Here I need your advice..
Thought of something else- an artifice- start a new contract/deal of what sky has on offer for my account and then cancel it within 14 days cooling period, as per sky's own policy.
This way I won't have to pay not even a month, but just the balance due for the days I've used sky services within cooling period.

Does it work or would it work?
Thank you for reading this

There is no connection between when your minimum term expired and when you can give notice, so if you call Monday 13th Feb, then it's 1 month (31 days or whatever the notice period is)..but it doesn't have to be on the anniversary of your minimum term, if you rang on the 15th it would be 1 month after that, if you paid a month in advance they should refund pro rata any overpayment,
  • As regards your question on basically defrauding Sky, then take a wild guess on the majority of replies you're likely to get...

I don't know whether T&Cs have changed but Sky needed 30/31 days' notice for tv and only two weeks for broadband and phone.

When I left, I'd just paid the next month's fees, but would have had a refund for the days after I left, had I not taken a new tv contract, which that money will help pay for.

Do you intend to just cancel, as if so, you will lose your number and incur a cease fee ?
