Van insurance issue

Thanks for that, that would certainly tally with what I'm finding... hopefully one of the 5 brokers looking into it today can sort it out. Isn't it shocking that out of the countless people I spoke to involved in the insurance business on Friday that none of them could come to the conclusions we have so far!! Expertise in a trade and customer service is obviously dead!!
Will update after today when I finally resolve in case anyone else has this issue.
I don't deal with motor Insurance anymore (Thank goodness) but it used to be fairly evident when running a quote through for us that the vehicle was not grouped.0 -
Zenith have confirmed this evening that the van doesn't have an insurance listing but the 172 version does. They have advised to ring back in the morning and discuss with the underwriters to see if they can amend the 172 policy to cover the 132 but said it's unlikely. Again they said you won't have the problem next year???? Well that's alright then 0

Is Zenith your existing Insurer?0
-
Yes Zenith was the original insurance company!!! Although through a different broker. The new broker is speaking to the underwriter though to see if the issue can be resolved.0

Thanks for all the help, especially about the insurance risk databases. The broker spoke to Zenith's underwriter today and managed to agree a quote of £548 pounds. Can't believe it took the best part of four days being told I was the problem by 90% per cent of the brokers I spoke to!!
Anyway got there in the end 0 -
Thanks for updating the thread.
The fault is most likely with Ford as manufacturers supply vehicles to Thatcham who test them and then calculate a recommended grouping for them for Insurers. If they do not supply the vehicle in advance, Thatcham rating the vehicle can be delayed.0
