Automated reply when you sell an item?

I will be away for a number of weeks, I have left notice of this on my listing but usually people don't scroll down .....
Usually when people buy an item I reply with' as stated on the listing, we are away till **** and will post on our return.' I do change the postage date but they don't always look at that either....
I don't want to remove the listing but we will be without internet for a lot of the time.
Is there a way I can do an auto reply if someone does buy my items?

Personally I wouldn't risk leaving live auctions, as you say no one reads the blurb and a couple of INRs and other defects could seriously risk your account.
Pull the listings and just relist when you get back.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. As above. Put yourself in a buyers position, They do not notice you are away. They buy something. They then get a message saying the item won't be dispatched for a few weeks. You are asking for angry trouble.
If you want to keep listings on without people being able to buy, you could always open a shop. That'll give you the option of hiding listings till you come back.0 -

I agree about the shop, it is one of the reasons I opened mine in the first place . I occasionally work a long contract for work or when I go on holiday and the ability to hide my listings for a week or more and not have to worry about them is worth the shop subscription.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. You are right, for PayPal seller protection items must be posted within 7 days of payment .I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. There's also the worry that a bunch of strangers get your address and the dates you are away, especially your location is in your listing . Not sure if you're leaving your house empty but it might be easy pickings for someone.0
