Santander PPI claim

Hi,
Has anyone been successful in claiming a missold PPI from Santander after receiving a letter from them and not responding to it. I think there was a closing date and that passed, therefore I'm asking is that really it or can I still try.
Thanks for your time and grateful for any advice.

If the letter rejected your complaint, you have six months from the date of the letter to refer it to the Ombudsman.Pearltheparrot1 wrote: »Hi,

You would normally only respond to a rejection direct to the Bank if you had new evidence not in your original complaint which contradicted their reason(s) for not upholding your concerns.
If you've left it longer than six months to refer to FOS, you are too late unless you have very compelling reasons for not doing so.
If you mean the Bank upheld your complaint and you didn't accept the redress, then you should approach Santander explaining why.0 -
If it was a standard we're making you aware you had PPI and you may make a complaint, you have 3 years from that letter to complain. If you don't complain, you've been informed, and it will be time barred.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

That's if the letter was a CCL ,of course. If it was a standard we're making you aware you had PPI and you may make a complaint, you have 3 years from that letter to complain. If you don't complain, you've been informed, and it will be time barred.
Such a letter would be unlikely to have an early "closing date" for response.0 -
Well, unless the OP is a bit clearer we'll never know.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

Many thanks for your responses. It was a standard letter making us aware we had a PPI and we could claim, but it's over three years ago. That will teach us.0

To be fair, it would only tell you that you could complain if you had reason to- not that it was definitely mis-sold to you...Pearltheparrot1 wrote: »Many thanks for your responses. As you say, though, if you wanted to complain now you would be time barred.0
