SkyGo on Xbox buffering

The past few weeks it has been horrendous. I've been watching a football match which is 18 mins in and it's on 12 mins on screen - shows how much buffering I'm experiencing. It is every few seconds, terrible.

I have tried the usual fixes like clearing the cache, deleting and reinstalling the app and resetting my Xbox account. No improvement at all.

Any advice?

Run speedtest and post the results.

If it's wireless (I don't know anything about X Box), try it with a wired connection.

As above connect via a cable if using wifi failing that a faster internet connection or a better ISP.

18m in yet only showing 12m. Maybe the channel had adverts which got removed before streaming?

50mb was the speedtest result. I've had BT infinity for the past 18 months and it has been absolutely fine until now, therefore I cannot believe that this is the issue.

No, it is usually a minute or so behind the actual game (from first to last minute, however). By the time the game got to half time I think it was on about 30 minutes, which shows the level of buffering delays.

Ethernet cable should do the trick? I will try this as the devices are all next to each other therefore I am not concerned if it is wireless or wired.

Wired connection works absolutely fine. Strange as all other wifi isn't fine, however it works so all is well.

Download something over your WIFI and monitor the download speed, needs to be a fairly large file. Get someone to switch the microwave on and watch the speed plummet.

I always assumed slowdowns at evening meal times was because of overloaded servers. everyone popping on the net before and after dinner.
Turned out it was when the missus used the microwave.

Any other devices on the 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz network? Will it connect to the 5Ghz signal?

We have similar problem with Sky wifi and a PS4 and a laptop. Son always complains wifi is rubbish when he's home at w/e. Would it help if we turned off electricity heavy items like fan heater downstairs.....i don't think I use the microwave that much! - or would it be better make sure other wifi using devices are switched off, when he's trying to watch the footie?
I don't know what our broadband speed is but we have Sky for all 3, and we don't have problems with the wifi
except at weekends when he's home.

You mention all your devices are next to each other.

Likely interferrence from one to the other.
It is best to use a cable whenever possible/practical

Possibly but they've all been next to each other for 18 months and only had the problem in the last week or two.

Hey ho, I had an Ethernet cable and now the connection is through that and fine. Job done.

Neighbours microwave, or neighbours wifi also.

Got a smartphone download a wifi analyzer app and see what channel your wifi is on and how congested it is. All my neighbours appear to be on channel 11. Nobody uses channel 3 - 8. Well except me.
