Does AVG have a firewall?

I have an issue with slow running laptop.

I have AVG but looking at the processes it seems that McaFee is also installed. Does AVG have a firewall? Or do I need to keep the McAfee firewall? Or should I uninstall every McaFee process including the firewall?

Depending on your Windows version (I don't recall when but certainly 7 onwards) there is virtually no justification in running any additional firewall - they'll just slow things down and give you hard to diagnose problems.

If you have AVG installed uninstall any McAffee programs. If AVG does offer a firewall turn it off.

Unless you are using a very old version of Windows you don't need a firewall at all, just use Defender. Having two AVs running is a recipe for potential trouble, if not worse. I'd get rid of McAfee entirely, you may need a removal tool to do it completely.
