Talk Talk hack

I was with Talk Talk until my personal details were stolen. I immediately change suppliers and I am now with EE.
Over the last couple of weeks we have had around 20 phone calls (International) saying that as customers of Talk Talk we are having problems with the router and that they have to connect to our computer!!! Obviously, we know that this is a "Scam" as no longer we are with Talk Talk!
We keep saying to them that we know that this is a scam and not to call us anymore, however, all to no avail!.
I have complained to Talk Talk as this was their fault but as I am no longer a customer they don't want to know.
A couple of their numbers are: 00886291334 and 01254581421
I don't know what else to do apart from changing our telephone number (which I don't want to do) as the calls keep coming!!!
Any help greatly appreciated.

Can I suggest that you look at the BT 8500/8600. This offers call screening and will solve your problem at a stroke.

It may make it slightly inconvenient for the callers that you want to get through, but once it's programmed up with their numbers they will get straight through.

I've had mine two years now and not one of these nuisance calls has got through!

Depending on your Landline provider, there may already be call barring facilities built-in. I know that BT and (ironically) Talktalk have this.

The fact that the scammers mention Talktalk may or may not be a coincidence, since this is a very similar approach to the "Microsoft" scam.

The BT phones have always been well-respected. Other call blocking phones and devices are available.
