Historic CCJ

Options
Some years ago my finances were in a bit of a mess.

From this time I have a CCJ on my credit file. It was registered in July 2012. I have contacted the court and found out that the claimant is United Utilities.

I still have an account with United Utilities and they are not chasing me for outstanding payments. Therefore am I safe to assume that the CCJ has been satisfied? Or should I contact United Utilities before applying to the court for a Certificate of Satisfaction?

Do you need a certificate of satisfaction?
If not may be worth waiting until next year for it to drop off, they could re register it but that is probably unlikely when they haven't bothered chasing you so far
  • I have a mortgage offer that is dependent on the CCJ being satisfied.

    Ah okay.
If I was you I would contact the company if anything just to expedite the process as fast as possible. At least then you know fully before you approach the court.

Is it a Decision In Principle or a full application?

Wishing you all the best - good luck hope it works out :)
  • It's a remortgage on a rental property. I've got the DIP. The application has been approved subject to the CCJ being satisfied.

Get in touch with the creditor, see what they have to say.

The problem you may have is them locating your old account after all this time.

  • It should say on your credit report whether it's been satisfied so you shouldn't need a certificate, Noddle lets you know.
