in Credit cards
i have a littlewoods credit card run by lpf through barclaycard
i didn't receive a statement last month, and i dont reallyget up in a morning and think 'have i got a bank stement or credit card statement today?' i have other things to think about each morning. infact i didn't realise i hadn't got a statement until the statement came through this month saying i was in arrears. i couldn't afford to pay the arrears.
however for the last 6 months my insurance has been paying my payments as i have been ill. now i am fit to work i am waiting if i can get payments due to the fact i am unemployed. i have informed the credit card company of this fact in both phone and writing. however i can only take as long as the insurance company can do to get back to me.
i had a call today saying they are passing it to a doorstep collection agency. which frightened the pants off me. i have no income at the moment. however, since being signed as fit to work by my gp i have been trying to get a direct debit set up with my credit card people for about 2 months now.
the credit card people said i could set up a direct debit on their minimum payment scheme. this was in august. i was like great here are my bank details, they were, you have to call back next week to arrange it. called back the week later and it has been like this since. i even made an offer above their min payment plan (the one for low incomes over a period of 8 months to start with)
i have an appointment with CCCS on thursday morning. is there anything i should do in the meantime?
sorry for the long ramble. i never read posts this big myself

call them and confirm the direct debit is set up for the minimum, and if not make sure they do it over the phone (cos they can!). the dd takes effect from the next statement, so make the minimum payment over the phone by debit card as well.
if the account is in arrears u'll be passed thru to collections but they should be able to help u with the above!
