Hi I would like some general advice on how to approach NEXT. About 12 years ago I noticed that my husband was paying PPI on his next account. So he called them and cancelled it as he had never requested it.

With all the advertising I was wondering how to approach them. I have no evidence at all! I am one of these people who have only kept paperwork for up to 2 or 3 years.

Is there any way to do this without the evidence?

Unfortunately your complaint will almost certainly be time barred due to the cancellation, you have 6 years from taking out a product and 3 years from discovering a reason for complaint (whichever is longer) or it's time barred - closing it 12 years ago unfortunately activated the time bar clock and so the firm can (not to say they will) refuse to deal with it.

If there is no paperwork left you'd not get anywhere anyway, depends how long they keep it

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

  • ok thanks for letting me know. We still have an account with Next but obviously no ppi on it.

If the account is still open then there may well still be records of your PPI. Therefore, there is nothing to stop you making a complaint, regardless of the obstacles mentioned at post #3.

I claimed for old Next ppi in June and received £10,225. My sister complained in august and received £600. Takes about 2 months

You need to write to Phoenix who are handling Next claims.

    The address is
    PA ( GI ) Ltd
    1 Wythall Green Way
    Wythall
    Birmingham

You'll get a questionnaire back from them to complete
  • Thank you. I it is worth a try.
