UPVC window not sealing properly

Hi,
Moved in to new house.
A bedroom window closes, but leaves a 2mm gap between the rubber seal and the window frame all along one edge, the hinge side.
It looks to be a perfectly good rubber seal, just that it has never sealed properly in it's life due to poor fitting/manufacture...i.e. changing the seal will achieve nothing.
The hinge side is vertical, i.e. it is a side-opener, not a top-opener.
The side with the handle that you close the handle down ...that side seals ok.
I have looked at the hinge mechanism and there does not appear to be any adjusment possible...
Ideas?
Thanks

Sounds like the hinge might need replacing.0

as above sounds like a hinge problem . see if screws are loose first . Is it shoot bolts or standard keepers . (on the handle side where the locking mechanism is there are off set cam "mushrooms " which can be adjusted or move the keeper (frame side across a bit to make a tighter pull on one side a tad more) If its bedroom and not too miffed about the look you can pop 2 sash locks on it using the right spacer it could pull it in tight . heres the type http://www.screwfix.com/p/mila-window-sash-block-white-65mm-x-20mm/8733p
edit . Push it in from the outside when locked if it moves (& moves out again its probs the hinge though:cool: hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0
