Too many credit applications

I have just had my MSE Credit Club profile updated and my credit applications status has been downgraded from a green happy face to a yellow glum face. The narrative includes the following statement.
"Too many credit applications in a short space of time can make it look like you're desperate for cash. You've made a few applications in the past six months. You may want to wait until some of these are a bit less recent before making any more applications. Applications are usually wiped off your report after a year."
Can anyone advise me which of the following count as a credit application?
1) Nationwide bank account (no overdraft requested).
2) Tesco bank account (no overdraft requested).
3) Multiple car insurance quotation requests.
This is all I have done in the last 12 months which in my mind should not in any way have affected my credit profile. Either the whole credit profile business is a nonsense or there have been other credit applications not initiated by me.

Probably just the first two.
The first two would have been recorded as "hard" searches I would have thought with the insurance searches being quotation searches. Best to check your files and see.0 -

Precisely. Right now, due to multiple current account opening - no overdrafts requested - I will have been mugged by multiple hard searches. These give a totally inaccurate view of my credit worthiness.0 -
Thanks for the replies. I have looked on Noddle and Clearscore and there are no hard searches recorded against my file. However, these two are often slow in recording activity on my credit fie. The sooner MSE deliver the promised free detailed credit report the better.
I cannot get the free Experian, Equifax and CallCredit reports as I did this a year ago.0 -

You won't see them until your report next updates. The paid ones update much faster. The free ones just once a month.0 -
Thanks.
MSE (Experian) updated 11/02/2017
Clearscore (Equifax) updated 10/02/2017
Noddle (Callcredit) updated 21/01/2017
No credit application seaches were recorded on either of Clearscore or Noddle. Just to be safe I have ordered my statutory Experian report for £2.0 -
Thanks.

Tesco and Nationwide only leave hard searches with Experian. You won't see those searches using Noddle (Callcredit) or Clearscore (Equifax) or MSE Credit Club as the latter doesn't currently allow you to access your full credit report with Experian.0 -
Thanks Ed-1,
This is very useful to know.0
