Sky to BT Issues

I was with Sky for TV,Phone and Broadband but decided to change to BT.
On placing order with BT i was told they would sort everything.
Order completed and all working, however I now find that I am still being billed by Sky for TV only as they say they only received cancelation for phone and broadband.
BT have said they cant take ownership of TV so its a Sky issue

Sky wont refund my last 4 months and have only agreed to waive the £16 cancellation fee from today
I am pretty sure you cant have TV only from Sky without having a phone line so TV should have automatically been cancelled
Is this correct> what can I do to get refund from Sky

No it's not correct. You can have TV only from Sky, and many people do. If you have it in writing from BT that they will cancel phone, broadband AND TV from Sky, then you could take it up with them as that is incorrect.

Otherwise, there isn't much (any) chance you will get the 4 months money back.

BT don't have the authority to cancel Sky TV on your behalf , it's only because Sky 'rent' the phone line from Openreach , as do BT Consumer, that there is a connection between Sky and BT as far as the phone and broadband ( in effect migrating from one to the other effectively 'cancels' the former )
If BT said they sort everything it only applys to the phone line services, not the TV, if a BT rep said it also includes TV then that customer service rep is wrong, ..perhaps you misunderstood, if they didn't explain clearly, but it's up to you to cancel Sky TV not them.
You can have Sky TV as a single service ( I do, my phone and broadband are from someone else) if fact as Sky TV was the first service they offered, they probably still millions of TV only customers
