Effect of MSE eligibility check?

Hi I recently did eligibility check for loans on MSE as I read that this would not affect my credit rating. I have now received this message from Equifax
HDD-PRICE COMPARISON-BARCLAYCARD , a Credit Broker company, has made an inquiry against your credit report on 04/02/2017 . If you were not aware of or did not consent to this search, contact HDD-PRICE COMPARISON-BARCLAYCARD or Equifax for clarification.
Will this have a negative effect on my credit score and should I follow up with Barclaycard?
