Dodgy Website?

Hi

Would anyone here order from this website?

https://www.motormaniamot.co.uk

It obvously has nothing to do with cars and the prices seem way too good to be true. I'm thinking I should be running for the hills. Opinions?

    No phone number given.
    No address given.
    No e-mail address given.
N company registration or VAT number given
and prices that are so low that there is no way that the items even if they actually do exist would ever be anything apart from cheap Chinese knock offs.

If you have any doubt, don't by from them.
That should be your maxim for any internet purchase.

The website registrant claims to have an address in South West London.

If a Uk company is running this website then they should be publishing a contact address. I couldn't find one.

Do you have a consumer rights issue you would like help with?

    Run to the hills.

You should first check the name, address and telephone details. Then look up their address on Google Streetview to judge what you think of their premises.

Also look at their terms and conditions to see what the say about complaints, delivery etc.

As it happens I could not find any address for the company which is a complete red flag. (What would you do if you had to contact them.)

Also suspicious - the poor spelling (e.g. of "treat"), multiple currencies, from what you have said suspiciously generous prices, and a company name that seems to have no relation to their business.

Finally a google search on the company name gives the following:

    and

    http://www.scamner.com/check/motormaniamot.co.uk

If that is correct, the IP address leads back to Turkey.

Yes, Whois agrees, but that's only where the server is.

Never ordered from there.... Looks like a templated website...

It was registered in November 2016 (Alarm bells are ringing).

It used to be a Car MOT website between 2012 and at least March 2016, linked to a garage near Manchester. THAT business was legitimate!

The current owner's address appears to be a terraced house in London (with a red door).

The website seems to be based in Turkey, but could also be Chinese (with a possibility that they are UK-based too, but that may be related to the MOT business).

The server which hosts the site also hosts:

    http://www.pull-brew-melt.co.uk/

    http://www.novare-polymers.co.uk/

which follow a similar sort of "too good to be true" and templated theme.

So, in a nutshell, I think it is almost certainly a fake goods shop selling from China. There are thousands of these websites and they spring up everywhere! There was a raybans (or whatever they are, those "fancy" sunglasses) one on here a few months ago.... cheap prices but fake goods from China. Turned out that the US had become involved and shut down a whole load of the sites.

Being totally honest, you'll *most likely* receive the goods... they will just be fake and/or of poorer quality.

You could run for the hills in the men's ? Nine West heeled stilettos which can allegedly be bought in size 13.5?

And buy a synthetic " neck gaiter ( bit of polyester fabric in a tube shape )
    Original price allegedly £54. Bargain!
