    Hello!

    Hope you are all ok?

My husband handed me this scratchcard that came out of a magazine, stating that we'd won two prizes and told me to deal with it! I looked at it, and although very dubious, it looked ok and I guess caught me at a bit of an 'off guard' moment so I followed the steps to claim.. well.. we won a weeks holiday in Tenerife (self catering) and a designer fragrance. It was only after claiming and speaking with friends that they mentioned Timeshare and it struck me, so I checked it out.. yep its timeshare..

Now not sure what to do, whether to leave it or to give it a go for the sake of half a day listening to their blurb about the wonders of timeshare It may work out a cheapish holiday depending on their terms and the cost of flights... any suggestions welcome..

ofcourse i'm expecting the fragrance to smell of cats pee.

    Jenny

hiya C0nfused, sorry to say think all the scratch cards
from mags/papers are a con & have read/heard many a sad story from peeps being caught out with them,
I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole but as always
it's up to the individual & that's just my honest opinion x

Believe me I wont be touching any more! I'm annoyed with myself for falling for this one! Now we've claimed we will wait to see what arrives.. Prob wont take up the holiday but we shall see.. And the cat pee fragrance will be a Christmas gift for someone I'm sure!! :rotfl:

A now not used much thread on the "purely creative" scratchcards is here

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2254809

I would go along with the advice in the first post on it
when this thread was started these cards were still winable, by doing what i advised below. My advice now is don't touch with a bargepole!!!

Believe me I'm regretting it now! Lol! As I said my guard must have been down when we were looking at it

Good morning peeps. Another bright sunny morning here but it is freezing. Have to head out in a couple of hours. Should be back mid afternoon. If I can find a shortcut to getting things done quicker then I will. Hate being out in the cold. Can't stand it. Hope everyone is well this morning. Take care. Be lucky.

Take care Rose. Try to keep warm.

Sylvia well done keeping up with the healthy eating.

Take care Rose. Shame it's so cold for you. Here I was woken early with the sun shinning.

COnfused we too fell for something similar years ago and even last year DH signed up for a holiday competition at a food festival which turned out to be timeshare. Usually the dates you want are not available anyway. My impression from friends is that timeshare sales are quite high pressure on Tenerife not that I have been there.

    Good luck everyone

Hope you're all ok and sending ((hugs)) for anyone needing
    one. :)

It's another beautiful day here but must admit it's feeling
a tad cooler at the mo. :p

I had the same yesterday evening rose - the sky became as
black as night  but thankfully it passed by without rain or
hail. For a moment I thought the end of the world was nigh!
    :eek: :rotfl::rotfl:

Many thanks for your kind words yesterday fire**fly. :A xxx

Puddy cat gave me a bit of a scare last night .... I always
give her hugs n' kisses :grinheart before I turn in for the
night .... but couldn't find her .... went looking and found
her in one of my rooms upstairs absolutely frozen to the
spot and staring at an old dolls house that I've had since
my kids were small. Sixth sense?:eek: Strangely
enough she was fine around it this morning! :p

I'm still only quarter way down my to do list so best crack
on! Also got a hair appointment this afternoon to have a
bit of a trim - it seems to grow so quickly!

Have a lovely and lucky day all and take care. :)

    Good Morning,

We are back home now - left Scotch Corner about 6.45am to get to Dumfries in time to pick DD up from her 12 hour night shift. Was pretty cold on way across the Pennines, with snow on the hills. Sun shining away here but not very warm. Have done a bit of shopping and just going to hang out the washing in a minute. Had a lovely break and had some lovely weather especially when visiting Matlock, Matlock Bath and Bakewell. Visited some great NT and English Heritage places too. Harwick Hall was one of our favourites. DH loved Crich, he has always wanted to visit, but it was cold there.

Hope everyone has recovered now. Any wins?
    Must get on.

Home again and boy it is freezing out there. Had hailstones falling around mid day. Just waiting on a shop being delivered after 3pm. Sky is white so expecting either snow or freezing pavements.
