Morning everyone. Another wet and windy one last night but now it is snowing quite heavily. Hopefully snow is temporary as I need to go out tomorrow morning for a few hours and do not fancy slipping and sliding on ice or ploughing through snow covered pavements. Hope everyone is well.0

What lovely pics today everyone, thanks. Couldn't resist this squirrel today, we have just noticed a little family of grey squirrels in the tree from our kitchen window, lovely to see them, they have some red in them too by the look of it.
Hi Mcculloch29 lovely to see you in the Inn, please keep coming by. No good at all with slogan things I am afraid but have had some nice wins over the years too.
Hope the snow goes away for you Rose so you can get to where you need to go tomorrow.
Its rained most of the night here but not much wind though have to admid I had a good nights sleep for once so wouldn't have noticed I dont think.
Good luck for a nice win everyone before the end of the month.BIG THANKS TO ALL WHO POST THE COMPETITIONS0 -
Hellooee everyone :hello:
Crikes, just been watching the havoc being caused by
Storm Doris on the TV! Hope everyone in the areas affected
are ok - bloomin' awful weather!
My daughter and family are on amber alert at the mo and
have made provisions if the power etc goes.
Luckily being down South we are on the outer boundaries
of the storm and have little more than slightly windy
conditions. Got everything crossed that it stays the same.
I had a dental check up this morning but sadly my lovely
dentist retired just before Xmas so had a new one. Wasn't
impressed at all I'm afraid - she's good at her job but
seems to lack personality! Ho hum. :undecided It was only
the first meeting though so best not make my mind up about
her just yet.3forholidays wrote: »I got an e-mail yesterday saying that I had won a Wilkinson Sword Hydro5 Razor - it came in the post today
:j Very well done 3for - lovely win! :j:T
I have had 2 wins today. One a surprise from Look mag a Toni & Guy styler. No email just turned up and a Closer click to win prize. Won a 1-year Family & Friends Railcard and Family Ticket to THORPE PARK Resort.

Hi mcculloch29  It's lovely to 'see' you.I used to
love the slogan comp era too and just like you won brilliant
prizes from writing slogans that would ulltimately catch the
judges eyes.Fond memories - used to love
doing
them.
Well done on your reviewing of Amazon products - it's
amazing and you're getting brilliant results! :T
Do hope your snow clears up rose before tomorrow and
that you have a safe couple of hours when out and about.
Lovely that your DD2 and children are up with you for a
stay leanfun - bet they'll have a fun time especially meeting
up with DD1 and little one.
I managed to watch just 5 mins of the BRIT Awards wingo
before I turned over - just seems to be car crash TV to me!
Do love The Real Marigold Hotel though!
Well, think I'll get myself a bite to eat, I'm starving ..... have
a safe day all and take care.

Thank you all for the lovely welcomes, and AlfieBlue, fond memories indeed.
Sometimes I would write a slogan that someone else used later on, did that ever happen to you? Of course you can't prove anything.
I can still remember one of my own favourite winning slogans. It won me £1000 just before Christmas 1993, my second one as a single parent. I had just finished a training course and was waiting to re-start working as a registered childminder.
I'd taken out a Halifax Credit Card to pay the £70 phone bill as I could see no other way of doing it. (£70! £26 a month now and that includes fibre-optic broadband). With the card application form was a competition to win £1000 loaded on the card.
You had to say why you wanted the card...
"With Halifax plastic, my cash is elastic."
Bingo. Whoever said money can't bring happiness was wrong, in my case. It brought a lot of happiness that Christmas.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Hi mcculloch. Great to hear of your success with Slogans. I'd be useless.
Good that you are able to write Amazon reviews. Very profitable
Alfie hgod to hear you too had success with Slogans too.
Great you were able to fix sprinter Firefly.
Well we woke up to pouring rain and high winds this morning. It stopped raining in the morning but the winds didn't die down until an hour ago. It's very quiet here now.
It was so good that family came yesterday and went went shopping, I went to corner shop this afternoon and was nearly blown over. It's our bin day today and they were blown all over the road. But I don't think we had it as bad as some people.
Just seen pictures of stations and lots of people at closed stations.
Rose hope snow clears for you and Sheils DS2.
Hope everyone is safe.0 -
It is a cold morning here, hope weather has improved for everyone now.
Don't hear any mention of DS2s area on the weather news so hopefully he will get to work today.
My uncle died yesterday, although I didn't see him much nowadays I do have lots of happy memories of him when I was a child.
It is horrid when you have to change Dr or dentist Alfie. Our dentist is the same age as me so hope he doesn't take early retirement as he is very experienced and does lots of specialist work for other dentists in the area.
Haven't done any comps yet so must get on. Good Luck all.

Morning everyone. Chilly here but snow has gone as it was raining last night. So your DS should get to work today shiels. Sorry to here about your uncle. Was rather hairy up here at times with wind over last two days indie. Snow yesterday didn't help either. Going to venture out to shop for some morning rolls and if pavements are icy I am going to book a taxi for later as I do not fancy slipping and putting leg out of action. Anyway hope you are all well. Be lucky.0
