I'm going up to B & Q today so I'll make some enquiries. As you say, I've got nothing to lose!0

I too would try the warm iron and cloth bit first it also worked for me
Don't !!!! Tried this and it left a rectangular WHITE mark, clearly this doesn't work on black stains on a dark wood table!
However, you tubed it and found someone who suggested gently rubbing table salt & vegetable oil into marks then leave for 5 minutes and take off. Not taken marks off completely but definitely looks better.0 -
You can use sodium percarbonate - it's a powdered form of hydrogen peroxide in a slow release form. Works by snipping molecules, including molecules glueing stains to the table surface. It's not corrosive either - people use it to kill or remove moss and algae from decking too. If in any doubt or you wanna be extra cautious you can do a tester on any bit of wood. Coffee stains can be hard to dissolve using detergents alone, so lifting them off is ideal..0

I don't know of any home made method of removing cup marks but there are several ready made products specially designed for the job. B&Q used to stock them.0
