Travel insurance to include Canada

Our current travel policy is with World-First, excluding USA / Canada.
Thinking of booking a trip to Canada for September at today's flight prices.
When renewal comes up (August) with there by a huge increase in premiums adding Canada to the policy?

Ask them for a quote to add North America. That's normally the most expensive region to add due to medical costs out there.
Also, note; if you book the holiday now and don't take out the North American cover until the month before you go, if you cancel for any unforeseen reason in the mean time you won't be covered as you don't have the cover in place now!0 -

So, if I book the holiday, I need to inform them?0 -
If you want to be covered for it...0

Also and this depends on all your holiday plans next year - it is possible if you only have this one holiday planned that buying a single trip policy for this one holiday is going to be cheaper than a whole years cover for possible multiple trips. On the other hand that may not be true - but it is worth checking.
If single trip was cheaper - just buy your next annual policy when you book your next trip - making sure it is only for the regions you will then visit. Then that will give you a whole year from that point
Usually the choice is to include or exclude USA, Canada and the Caribbean (not usually labelled as North America)
Have fun whatever.I am just thinking out loud - nothing I say should be relied upon!
I do however reserve the right to be correct by accident.0 -
We've used World-first for a number of years, they cover the medical issue we have, cover has always been World-wide, excluding USA / Canada, etc., etc.,
This planned trip to Canada, will be a one off for those locations mentioned.
Thank you for your advice.0
