Advice on ill cat please help

Options
Hi my female cat milly who will be 13 this year has been showing signs that she could have dementia. I'm concerned as she has been weeing and pooing everywhere indoors including cooker and toaster. She also sleeps a lot doesn't clean herself and seems to just hide away a lot of the time. She recently has started to hiss when we go to stroke her not all the time but sometimes and doesn't really like to be stroked anymore . This morning when I cleaned up poo there was some blood in it and yesterday there was some watery vomit that also had blood in. I'm just looking for some advice as she just doesn't seem happy anymore and it's like she either doesn't care or doesn't realise that she is weeing and pooing everywhere x please help any advice would be much appreciated x :(

So sorry to hear that, poor Milly.
I really think you should get her to the vet ASAP she sounds like she is in pain
    Good luck
  • Thank you x I'm scared as I know they say about putting her to sleep x
I thought at first it was because we got 2 new male cats and that is when she stopped using the litter tray but that was nearly 3 years ago and she would go outside but she is just going all the time indoors x they used to pick on her to but they know that they get told off so they don't do it anymore so I just don't know what to do x
  • The cat's symptoms sound serious, You can't let this continue, - do get her to the vet as soon as possible. They won't force you to PTS.

I'm afraid that the longer you leave it before taking her to the vets, the more chance there is that she'll have to be PTS as they won't have any alternatives.

Make an emergency appointment and get her checked out; it could be an infection that's hurting her. Animals can do very strange (to us!) things when they're in pain.

She really should have seen a vet long before now if symptoms started three years ago but right now it sounds urgent and even if they do want to PTS it sounds like that might be the best thing for her.

Soiling herself, blood coming out of both ends and seeming to be in pain is not an existence I would wish on my worst enemy let alone a beloved pet.

Hopefully this poor cat is being seen by a vet by now, if you can OP please pop back to let us know that you did take her.

Not everything that makes an older animal ill means there is no hope, lots of things can be treated. Fear of what might be wrong is never a reason not to get an animal the care it needs.
  • I agree taking to the Vet asap , cats doesn't show signs of danger , the weeing means its in pain , my cat used to do that they she got a heart attack 2 weeks ago , I still can't believe she is gone ((((( :A
