Parked on the wrong side

I paid my parking ticket on my PayByPhone app which prompted me to a location. The road was correct but unfortunately the parking reference number was for the opposite side of the road. Came back and found a PCN stuck on my windscreen. I made a genuine mistake for paying my parking ticket but for the wrong side of the road. Can I appeal my PCN?

Was this a council ticket or private land? If the former you are better posting this on pepipoo.com as we specialise only in private parking tickets here.

If you take this to pepipoo you will need an email account to register there, but Hotmail won't work for some reason. Read the FAQs there then post both sides of your redacted PCN plus any photos of signs you can get.

If private land, we will need a lot more information here.

No it doesn't but the people who help out here generally don't have the expertise to help with council/police motoring affairs, that's why we generally direct people to our friends on pepipoo for those cases.

    Good luck.

That's true but there are only a few of us who can help re Council PCNs (e.g. me, Tilt and bargepole are three who could advise but for myself, I hardly ever deal with Council ones now). But on pepipoo they have loads of advisers who do these every day, which we don't:

So we are saying that you will get better advice there.

Simple answer is YES, always appeal a Council PCN!! :)
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
