House / (building) site insurance

Hi,
I need to insure my self build project. I currently have site insurance with protek (who I would not recommend) so I'm looking for an alternative. It's now a mainly self build as all the paid work has finished (except maybe some minor stuff) so what I need is basically buildings cover and legal. Site insurance has buildings cover and rather limited legal cover all to do with contracts. What I'm looking for is insurance that will cover me without so much contract insurance so it will be cheaper. Normal home insurance does not seem to be interested me until the house is finished and I'm living there. Unless anyone knows of a more flexible home insurance?
Any recommendations for cheap site insurance or home insurance that will cover large works?
TIA
