None of us here own a crystal ball. Why not phone the garage and ask them what was wrong with your car.

Maybe look at the bill they gave you, which should detail the fault and the work done to cure it?
4 long 'screews'...possibly the spark plugs?

Yes it was spark plugs,i remember now, he said if u change them then u never have problem with car to start engine, is he correct?

And he did connect it to computer before chaging the spark plugs and he fixed code error, but i thought he charged me alot, i know nothing about cars, any info be greatful, thanks
  • £90 for recovery, plugs, and code reset. Sounds ok to me. I assume the recovery was around £50-£60.

Not really correct no. there are plenty of other things that more commonly go wrong with modern engines.
Having your car regularly and properly serviced can save a lot of grief. Particularly if you don't know a lot about cars. Servicing is money well spent.
The other problem about not knowing a lot about cars is that you are at the mercy of any garage you go to.
Charges depend on what has actually been done, and which garage it was. Some main dealers would charge more or less what you paid just to connect the car to diagnostics.
    What does the receipt say?

zak, you are driving a 14 year old car. Paying £90 for recovery and for mechanic time, and replacing spark plugs is reasonable. Having new spark plugs won't mean you'll never have a problem starting your engine. It just means that you've got new spark plugs - it's an old car and if you aren't looking after it, anything could be next.
Your best bet is to speak to friends, family, colleagues, neighbours etc. and see if they can recommend a decent garage nearby that you can take your car to for servicing and future repairs as and when you need to. A good garage won't do unnecessary work, and will charge you a fair price for work that is required. You don't need to know lots about cars if you've got a trustworthy mechanic on hand, but you should try and learn a few basics such as checking oil and coolant levels, tyre pressures and depth etc. which can be easily done by anyone.

You do not have to start a new thread, just add your question to the other one you started?

Are there any courses locally for basic car maintenance? worth going!

  • £90 seems a good price.

On a normal cheap service, plugs aren't changed and to be honest most people these days just have the minimum service done every single time, so there's a really good chance those plugs were upwards of 10 years old.
If that is the case with this vehicle, then things like coolant, brake fluid, the fuel filter, etc, will never have been changed either.
