Hi,
I upgraded from windows 7 to windows 10 when the free update release was being offered.
However, my pc is giving me problems, and I want to do a fresh install.
Whats the best option:
1. Insert windows 7 disc and boot?
How do I obtain a copy of windows 10 again?
Many thanks!

Use https://www.magicaljellybean.com/ to ensure you have all your serial numbers (don't think that's the right word) product keys?
Then go here and follow your nose ....

You do not need to install Windows 7 again.0 -
Windows 10 English International 64-bit
Download and save.
Pop in a DVD and right-click and select Burn disc image. Then the Windows Disc Image Burner tool opens.
Once created, follow instructions in the link posted earlier for a clean install.0 -
you can stick the win10 install .iso onto a USB stick and install via that.Laters

You can reset your PC from inside Windows 10 which effectively does a clean install. Optionally keeping your files but you can select it to wipe everything.
You don't need installation media for that.- Navigate to Settings. ...
- Select "Update & security"
- Click Recovery in the left pane. ...
- Click Get started under Reset this PC.
- Click either "Keep my files" or "Remove everything," depending on whether you want to keep your data files (documents, videos, music, photos) intact. Either way, all of your settings will return to their defaults and apps will be uninstalled.
- Select "Just remove my files" or "Remove files and clean the drive" if you chose to "remove everything" in the prior step.
- Click Next when Windows warns you that you won't be able to roll back to a prior version of the OS.
- Click Reset when prompted, then Continue, then let it do its stuff.

In addition to the above post, YOU DO NOT NEED A PRODUCT KEY to do a completely fresh re-install of Windows 10 whether you choose the above method or to boot from an installation disc. When you get to the part that asks for one click the "I don't have one" below the entry box (it even tells you to do this if you are reinstalling the OS), select the correct version of Windows 10 and install as normal. Once installed it should activate automatically once you are online. The way Windows Activation works now is different to previous versions and it is done purely on the hardware ID of devices in your computer, not hardware ID tied to a product key. You only need a product key the very first time you are installing Windows 10 on a computer that has never been activated. Once you have done that you should never need the product key again for that computer. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
