PPI Advice

Hi,
I am sure I had PPI on my very first credit card, I know it was with TESCO and I know the date of opening/closing but I do not know the account number.
I paid £2 for my credit report on from Experian which confirms the above but didn't give me any of the account details like I thought it would.
I have downloaded the letter template from MSE to request whether I had any PPI or the like but the template requires an account number which I don't have.
What is my next step? Could I send the letter requesting details but omit the account number? Or would it be best to give them a ring?
Thanks for any help,
Victoria

Either.
If they can't locate your account, you could try a SAR.0
