Just seen this - looks way better that the inward nets type of thing, much easier to install and must be cheaper too.
But not sure how many times poor cats woud fall off before giving up trying?

Interesting, I've seen a similar type online with revolving wooden poles. I reckon it's probably very expensive, more than diy inward facing net anyhow. I'd be worried the cat could jump on it in such a way that it would land on the other side...i.e. Roll the wrong way. Not all escapes are made from ground level.
I'd love to be proved wrong however!Norn Iron Club member 4730 -

Many years ago I imported an cat proofing system called Ping String from Australia. It's defunct now and cat is too elderly to try and get out anymore but sadly one day I will be back to the starting locks, so I'm interested in good ideas for a large perimeter garden.Norn Iron Club member 4730

Seen this too but not convinced at all to be honest - may be suitable for you?

A DIY version is PVC piping over the top of strong wire or a solid pole

I've noticed that since I've replaced the fence panels with a run of feather-edge board fencing - my cat isn't besieged by the local Toms!
The wide top of the old panels were easy to walk along, but feather-edge just too uncomfortable except for a few steps.I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0 -
Its been in the UK for a long time, yoy can make a cheaper version with guttering downpipes.0
