When a refund is made by echeque is that because the seller didn't have the funds in paypal?

If the echeque doesnt clear does that mean the seller still didn't have the funds and probably blocked ebay/paypal from getting to them?

I've moved your post to it's own thread as I think it will just complicate the thread you posted on.

An echeque is usually sent where the person sending money didn't have sufficient fund sin their paypal account, although I did have one refund last year that went as an echeque even though I had funds, and I have no idea why.

I was wondering if my seller was going to comply with the return or be awkward about it.
48hr tracked returns label arrived on the last day of the dispute, seller thinking i will make him wait? Not bothered. In no rush to get my money back as long as its coming back.

Ebay emailed me before i had got home to say package posted, and another a couple of days later to say it was delivered and the seller initiated a refund by echeque and to wait 6 or 7 days?

If no refund then claim back with the money back guarantee.

When they said the seller accepted the return does that mean delivery tracks and the seller has no choice i wonder?

No contact from the seller after they accused me of knowing it works, and me saying i think he knew it didnt work. This could have been dealt with much easier.

There was a chance i could have got it to work, but who knows about long term damage from the stuff he used on it. I don't think he was expecting me to know about the stuff he used on it and what it does to some devices.

You need to keep an eye for eCheque payment on Paypal. I once had a refund by eCheque. Paypal emailed me dutifully when it was issued. The seller then cancelled it. Paypal never emailed me about the cancellation. Found out in the end from the status of payment. I'm only a small eBayer so the transaction list is short. For a busy one, the cancellation could sneak through without notice...
