Without meaning to sound like a know it all (there's probably a good reason why you do this). But surely it would be easier to manage by having the money in each account filled evenly? They'll accrue the same interest over time and no chance of missing out on any interest compounding! If you divide your Tesco cash equally between the two accounts, they'll both grow at the same rate until both are full. No need to shuffle.
Sometimes my balances are at or near £3k on both accounts so sometimes only a shuffle will do.
I fairly recently transferred 3k from one account to BOS and evened the accounts with an internal transfer. Was just as easy as making two separate external payments of £1500 from each account.
On other occasions I might make one large deposit to one account and then spread the money evenly via internal transfer as it saves making two external payments to Tesco.0 -
I think you just like messing about with your money as I do, shifting my Krugerrands from one drawer in my desk to another, giving them a little polish en route. Everyone has their perfect system, as you have read, but occasionally it's tempting not to go with the flow0

You...erm...boys. Look at the first three posts. Can I......yes...thank you. But that's not good enough, we must interfere, chastise, mock..because we are all financial gods. Yeah...right.I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.0

It's not been vicious Steve. It's a chat zone and people love to chat and set out their pet theories. If you'd left after post 3, content with your answer, you wouldn't have known what went on after.
I'm not terribly happy with the current way we slang chat, but I suppose, borrowing from the 21st century, 'chill' may be the answer?0
