Section 117 and State Pension

HI all, i have tried to look for this but there are so many different answer given,
A family member was sectioned under section3 and now requires full care due to dementia. they had been told they will not have to pay for there care under section 117, but my question is what will happen to there state pension and private pension. there spouse will continue to live in there home which they own.

Where is your family friend going to live?
Care under section 117 is free so they would not have to pay for it and would retain their pensions.
However, depending on where the family member is going to live there may be other benefits that can be applied for.
