Paying off credit cards - close account or keep open?

    When you close the pay day loan etc all for a letter of confirmation that the account is settled and closed. Then check that bet moved to the closed accounts section on credit reports. Just in case you pay what you owe and they add something like interest that will stop the closure.

    One factor in credit scoring us age of oldest accounts. Worth keeping the card but maybe with a lower credit limit.

    No harm to also keep the Barclaycard. Later you can apply for a Barclaycard that offers a better deal and they normally let you move credit limits between cards.
