Parking charge nofice from northern parking services

So I've received a parking charge notice from northern parking services. I had no legitimate reason for parking in the car park other than it was totally empty and late at night. Not a single other car there.
Anyway, I've checked and they are registered with the BPA. I gather from the pinned post that means I need to appeal to them on around day 25 or 26. Is that right?
Should I pay it or not? Hate stuff like this - and I told my husband we shouldn't park there but he insisted it would be fine so he is not my favourite person right now either!!
Thanks for your help x
