Not seen this posted - apologies if it has. As from 1.4.17 Tesco there is extra points if you use your debit card but I am having difficulty understanding the terms and conditions.

OP are these the Terms and Conditions you're referring to?:

Until 01/04/17, you’ll collect one point per £4 spent in each card purchase transaction (£4 minimum) within Tesco. One point awarded per £8 spent in each card purchase transaction (£8 minimum) outside Tesco.

From 01/04/17 to 01/04/19 we guarantee you will be awarded one point per £1 spent in each card purchase transaction (£1 minimum) within Tesco and one point awarded per £8 spent in each card purchase transaction (£8 minimum) outside Tesco.

Exclusions apply. Clubcard earn rates are subject to change. There are some products at Tesco you can’t collect points on, see the Tesco Clubcard website for details.

This product is subject to availability and may be withdrawn to new customers at any time.

The Tesco Clubcard Scheme is administered by Tesco Stores Limited, Tesco House, Shire Park, Kestrel Way, Welwyn Garden City, AL7 1GA, who are responsible for fulfilling points.

Basically speaking: until April 1st 2017 you'll earn 5 Clubcard points on qualifying transactions per £4 spent in Tesco on your TB Visa Debit card (4 Clubcard points plus an additional 1 bonus point for a min. eligible spend of £4).

During the dates listed above you'll earn eight points i.e. 4 Clubcard points plus a further 4 bonus points per min. £4 of qualifying in store spending. You're guaranteed at least 1 Clubcard point per £1 of eligible spending during that promotional timeframe even if the scheme changes (for example 0.5 Clubcard point per £1 spend).
It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.

How many points would you earn on £4 of stamps or baby milk in Tesco (with the debit card after April)

Why do you think that stamps and baby milk are special? Are they currently?

Well, it's a good question then, but I'd say as it's extra points, not monetary cashback, that debit card transactions generate, then the same rules apply.

All Tesco Bank will see is a charge from a Tesco checkout. They don't know what you've bought.

So giftcards, formula milk and anything else which normally doesn't earn clubcard points will still contribute to the transaction total (on which you will earn 4 points per £4, rounded down).

No problem. As above you won't qualify for points on excluded items (examples above) however it's worth pointing out you'd still earn 1 point per £4 of spending in store.

Have purchased cigarettes in the past on my Tesco Bank credit card-understandably zero points because they aren't permitted under the scheme however I've still earned at least 1 point for using the credit card.
