Hi
I've lost a couple of days reading through a lot of the advice and links, but am struggling to find advice re my position (well parts of it).
I have a permit for residential parking controlled by National Parking Enforcement - it is not where I live but I have the permit legitimately via work. Forgot to display the permit one day so got a ticket - totally my fault and can see by the terms laid out of the NPE appeals process this is not a reason upon which cancellation would be successful.
I have found a couple of things on the print of the ticket which I wonder if would assist in not having to pay:
1 - the site field has a spelling mistake in the street name where the ticket has been issued. The site name as read on the ticket is not a street that exists.
2 - the formatting of the print on the ticket omits much of the commentary around the details of the penalty. Can't add image as a newbie but for example reads as below:
'The vehicle was parked on private
contravention of the site parking
as displayed on the signage o
The driver is liable to pay the su
DUE WITHIN 28 DAYS OF THE DATE
The reduced amount of £60 will be
payment is received within 14 days
of issue. Failure to pay this char
in enforcement action which coul
Count Court proceedings and whic
additional costs.'
Are either of these sufficient as part of the appeals process?
I have not appealed yet.... because this ticket was issued in Scotland.
The ticket reference number didn't locate it on the appeals website anyway so that was maybe a good thing.
I have seen the commentary about how things differ up here, but I'm not sure I want to ignore this because I'm not the registered keeper of the vehicle in question and don't want this to cause undue pressure and aggravation to the person who is. I'm not sure how cut and dried the ignoring it is given some press i've seen about some tickets north of the border that have had to be paid. To that end paying the £60 before the 14 day at least saves me £40.
Thoughts welcome
Thanks

You can safely ignore everything in Scotland (except the unlikely event of court correspondence)! Don't ever reveal who was driving!0

the mistakes and bad speeling was so that you ,would ring up and indirectly admit to being the driver
do not contact them if you are in scootland0 -
Good, keep it that way because the POFA doesn't apply to land North of the border. The keeper can't be held liable, no matter the threats in the letters that will arrive.I have not appealed yet.... because this ticket was issued in Scotland.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

You're going to have to get the registered keeper up to date on this to avoid them identifying the driver. How well do you know them? Are they likely to be willing to ignore everything?I have seen the commentary about how things differ up here, but I'm not sure I want to ignore this because I'm not the registered keeper of the vehicle in question and don't want this to cause undue pressure and aggravation to the person who is.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Yep, no issues with the keeper there

Another quick question - when this does drag out and the vehicle is legitimately using the parking area with a permit, are NPE allowed to clamp the vehicle for non-payment of a previous PCN?0
