Potential holiday refund!

Have been contacted by a gentleman called Sully, from an outfit called the Holiday Advisory group. He claims to be able to get me a refund on my recent holidays due to alleged poor hygiene standards at the resorts in question. Talk is of a minimum of £1000 refund up to a maximum of £5000 or the cost of my holiday, whichever is greater.
When pushed he admitted that they would take a 25%cut, but that the £1000 figure quoted was the "guaranteed " minimum.

Has anyone heard of them and are they legit?

Get his cut down to 15% and see if he's still on board with the claim.

I received a telephone call from some outfit, it might even have been the same one, saying they were calling about my recent all inclusive holiday. I haven't taken an AI holiday for just over 2 years. I requested that I be removed from their mailing list and I blocked the number. You might do well to do the same.

Have you had a holiday with poor hygiene standards? Did you report this at the time?

Or are you just looking to jump on the compo bandwagon?

Never heard of them, but they sound similar to ambulance chasing scum who phone about "your recent accident" even though they haven't got a clue if you've had an accident or not. They're just trying it on, if you say "what accident" they hang up and try the next mug. If you have actually had an accident, you might assume they're from your insurance or or acting on their behalf since they seem to know about the accident!

Like them, they'll probably hint you'll only get compo if you had food poisioning, or were sick etc, so this encourages scummy chav types to suddenly "remember" being ill for part of their holiday, or blame their hangover on dodgy food etc.

Hopefully the new rules re small claim limits etc will put this sort of scum out of business.
  • There's going to be an investigation into these ambulance chasing companies due to the huge rise in claims for compensation because people were sick on holiday. The Spanish hoteliers have said the amount of claims is way in excess of the complaints they receive in resort, and that its the Brits. Other nationalities claims haven't changed. They're only from people who have been on package holiday covered under the package regs.

They're enticing people to lie and claim even when they havent been ill. Spanish hoteliers said its costing them around €60m. Greece and other destinations have also seen increases. Even the foreign office are warning people about making false claims.

Its not a refund they get. Its compensation if you were sick. They're not going to get you anything for poor hygiene standards.

If £1000 is guaranteed, I would ask them to send it to you straight away as soon as they receive your contract since that is the minimum. This is all nonsense, there are a number of these people, not chasing ambulances but actually driving them. I came across 'sick holidays' (yes really) they have wonderful reviews, all 5 star and all submitted to the review site on the same day, would I trust them, possibly not.
