Media will not play in my Twitter feed. I'm using Firefox. Anyone know what I can do to resolve this.

Thanks.

Has it worked for you in the past using firefox ?
Does it work if you use IE ?

Im guessing it will be related to the flash addon

Hi, yes it worked in Firefox before, but my computer crashed a few days ago and I had to run my windows vista disk to get it working again. I downloaded Flashplayer24 and Shock Wave and thought that would work but it didn't help. I can watch You Tube and Facebook media without any problems. :(
  • I've had no more replies, can anyone tell me how I can get videos and GIF'S to play in my Twitter feed. Do I need to download something or uninstall something. Any advice would be very welcome.

    Thank you.

    ...windows vista...

It may not be the cause but updating to any other version of Windows (even 8) would be a sound idea at this point.
  • I cannot afford to upgrade, and was thinking of installing Linux when Windows stops doing updates for Vista in April or (September to give users a chance to sort things out.) Before my computer crashed (and I have no idea why it did) My Twitter media played just fine. I just want to know what I can do to get the videos to play again, someone must know??

    Thank you.

If only you had grabbed the free Windows 10 upgrade, which was all over the web for months. Sadly, this ended last July. I upgraded one laptop from Windows 7 Home Premium and another from Windows 8.1 without probs.

I have had probs with Mozilla Firefox before and I worked out that Firefox updates a lot and it takes the major software companies awhile to catch up. So you may find that some things, especially media, don't work for awhile.

Solution is simple. Just install another internet browser and use that for those things until Java or whatever becomes Firefox-compatible again.

Have you installed Java? A lot of web content relies on this.

Are you sure? What sort of web content needs it? The general advice for the last few years has been to uninstall Java unless there is an absolute need for it. I removed it several years ago and haven't had any problems due to it's absence (although I don't have a Twitter feed so I accept that it's possible it could be required for that).

It was never a free upgrade from Vista, only from Win 7 and 8.
  • Thanks for all the replies, I have installed Chrome and everything's fine with Twitter now. I am aware that "Starting April 2016, Chrome will continue to function on these platforms but will no longer receive updates and security fixes." But as I said before I will install Linux soon.

    Thanks to everyone again.
