Car insurance renewal rip off

So I am a 50 year old lady driver - no accidents no convictions with over 14 years no-claims . I have just gone through all the correct channels for searching the best deal on my car insurance renewal. No great surprises - most were around the £300 mark UNTIL I thought I'd give age concern a try on the MSE link - (well I am over 50 & there was a cash back promo)
The quote was over £700!!! Just made me so mad - how many trusty pensioners would automatically renew with them I wonder. Exploitation of our elder society - absolutely disgusting!

If you used any of the price comparison sites were they all showing a premium of around £300? (Or just the cheapest in the long list was in that range?)

(Maybe the MSE link and cashback offer had something to do with the price being higher - cashback has to be paid somehow, and when you buy off ageuk part of the premium goes to their charitable work )
