Form ID1

Hello everyone,

I have to have my identification verified to complete Land Registry form ID1. The persons who are able to do this are:
Solicitor
Notary Public
Barrister
Licenced Conveyancer
CILOEx Conveyancing Practitioner
Chartered Legal Executive Conveyancing Practitioner
Chartered Legal Executive

I live in mid-Cheshire. Does anyone know who would be cheapest to perform the task of looking at me, looking at my photograph and signing that it is a true likeness.
I have seen prices ranging from £60+vat to £150+vat!

Many thanks,
Mark

Land registry will do it for free if you go to the offices
  • Our local Post Office do that here and I think they charge £20 so you could ask yours

but only if you submit the forms (TR1 or whatever) at the same time. You cannot get them to verify ID1, take it home, and then submit later by post.

If you're getting a solicitor to do something else (eg draw up your will) they will probobly do ID1 for free at the same time.

    Very true, thanks G_M!
  • Ok, thank you for your responses.

I am not seeing a solicitor about anything else.
I am the first signatory and therefore am unable to take the ID1 and TR1 to the Land Registry.

I don't understand how a Post Office can sign to say that they are any of the above required signatories. Or are you thinking that this is just a standard ID check like for a passport photo?

    Thanks,
    Mark
  • Ooops, sorry :o
  • Thanks again everyone.

I have found a local solicitor who will do the deed for the princely sum of £5!
