Wow, a lot of pretty broad judgements about people who work in offices there!
Lots of 'creative' people work in offices, not all office environments are the same and not all office work is mundane.

Not all office jobs are like that. I love my office job always varied, always a different project I can be working on. Get to eat/drink at desk when I want. Always someone available to talk to colleagues and external contacts.

Maybe OP you are in the work type of office role. I would not wish to just be an administrator where the work can be repetitive. I like to be able to manage my own time/projects (within reason)

Maybe you haven't found the right job that could be all it is. I have had some good and pretty bad office jobs. It depends very much on the culture and the people who work there. Like now - the management is terrible and its full of fat middle aged woman who are pretty mean to each other! I am already fat. Not quite middle aged. I definitly want to leave before I become bitter! They have become my inspiration to improve myself before I end up like them. So yes being in an office like that is like prison!
Leave if you are not happy though and if the TA thing doesn't work this time ask for feedback so you know what to improve on.

I think it's just that I'm not suited to an office environment and mundane work. I'm very creative.
Rest of my life is fine - I just don't want to be someone who waits for 5pm to come before I start getting some satisfaction from my life.

    You creative types

Why not look for a non office based job?

    Thousands about.

I work in an office, and I'm probably the least creative of the lot. Many of them express their creativity outside office hours ...

Wow, if I was the serious type I'd be quite offended by that.
  • Thanks for your advice, but I'm working through an agency who like my qualifications and experience. TA jobs don't require specific qualifications - so thanks but I'll trust the agency's advice.

Errr i think you'll find that most schools expect you to be trained NVQ (or equivalent) level 2 or 3 onwards. They do require specific qualifications... i'm level 3 CACHE trained!!

To get the full NVQ and demonstrate competence you generally need to be working the role.
So if the employer has given an interview when they know the OP doesn't have the qualification must mean there is a chance they'd be offered the job, surely? It's a waste of the employer's time otherwise. Although obviously if a good qualified candidate applied they'd be top of the list.

I also am not suited to office work. There's nothing wrong with it, it's just not for me.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
