USD account

I'm looking for a USD account with the lowest monthly fees and minimum deposit that doesn't require me switching my current account from Santander, who do not have a suitable product.
I am going to be paid regularly in USD and think the best way to manage this is to get paid into a UK USD account and exchange it at my leisure through Moneycorp to get a better exchange rate. HSBC have a fee-free USD account but they require that you have a current account with them and these are not very rewarding compared to my Santander 123. Therefore I think it's worth paying an account fee for the USD account elsewhere.
Anyone been in a similar position? How did you handle it?

Why is that a problem? You can keep the Santander account, have 2 HSBC (1 GBP, 1 USD), and just transfer out to Santander via the HSBC GBP?Excuse any mis-spelt replies, there's probably a cat sat on the keyboard0 -
Just all a mess isn't it0
