Wouldn't ever live off smithy. It's where you go if want to get shot. Yes I can be snobby. But I think I have a point here. Doesn't matter about the house if you live with fear constantly.0 -
And in an AMAZING shock, £40k houses aren't in especially nice areas.0

Blimey. The stamp duty on my house was more than £40k.
Of course, it was worth it not to live in Leverpewel...0 -

It doesn't matter how cheap the worst houses are if 99% aren't prepared to buy and live there.
Could be a fiver still wouldn't make a difference.0 -

I bought at 27 and I thought I did well. I bought a static caravan, lived in that for a few years and was able to save up £500 a month.0

Well I must say that I was impressed by the article, inasmuch as it made a decent change from the usual LBC "disabled transgender, teen, single-mother, refugee, unable to afford home in area with decent creche facilities, Tories to blame" that we see there.
Sure the couples featured were earning decent incomes, but isn't that, you know, a sort of one of the conditions for buying a house.
And as for having to move somewhere were house prices are reasonable, in order to afford one, well, you have to prioritise what you want out of life really.“If you trust in yourself, and believe in your dreams, and follow your star. . . you'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and who weren't so lazy.”0 -

Sounds better than renting, you had your own space:
How did the overall costs compare to renting, including the sale value or even disposal costs (if any) of the caravan at the end?
Was the caravan site conveniently located for both work and a social life?
