I am a 50+ mature student doing an access course in Health/Social care. Most of us are hoping to go to uni next year - some social work, some nursing and the rest for various therapies (physio, nutrition, speech etc). Few of us have formal qualifications. Although the course started last week, two more joined this week. Have a word with your local HE college. They should be able to give you good advice.
    Good luck.

    To all.

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. I applied to Uni and have decided to do a one year access course which if I pass, will secure me a place on a degree course next year. The course started this evening and I went along, nervous but excited. I have been given this opportunity so I am going to give it 100%. I am soooooo happy!!

    :)

NickiM. I managed my personal statement so a special thanks to you for the offer of help.
